According to Reuters, the market for hot girl-on-girl action in India is being threatened by a bunch of hardline Hindus--mostly young men--who believe "What one does in the bedroom and bathroom should not be displayed publicly.'' Um, bathroom? What do they think lesbians are up to, exactly?
In Jabalpur, stick-wielding activists of the hardline Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal groups smashed windows of a cinema hall even though it had canceled the scheduled film shows."About 50 right-wing activists walked into the theater pushing aside security personnel and created mayhem,'' police inspector I.S. Chauhan told Reuters by phone.
The Bollywood film, called Girlfriend, has been panned by some critics for being "redolent with cliches.'' Sigh, if only that were the reason for the protests. The cinetrix would gladly join a group of Jacobins protesting, say, Garfield: The Movie.
