Hello, kiddies. Cinetrix here. Sorry for the silence. Since Sunday I have been in the mountains, where the lethal combination of one of those beautiful hookah-shaped iMacs with perhaps the slowest dial-up ever has kept me outside [shudder] enjoying nature.
But tomorrow, the cinetrix will be in Manhattan, where the potential to squeeze in one, maybe two, big-city matinees looms large. But which two, and where? This is a big decision. Like Eminem, we're talking one shot.
That's where you nice people come in. Should it be Days of Being Wild and Tarnation at Film Forum? If so, in which order? Or perhaps Sideways and I [heart] Huckabees in Chelsea? Ditch the double-feature idea altogether and wallow in the operatic noir melodrama that is Bad Education? [Sorry no live links. The cinetrix is a Luddite, and the iMac/dial-up hides all the clever Typepad formatting buttons.] Throw over the cinema completely in favor of Mark Tansey, or Louise Bourgeoise, or Barbara Kruger, or Botero?
Please leave your suggestions in the comments. And don't say MoMA--the cinetrix's agoraphobia and xenophobia have been coming along quite nicely, and she wouldn't want a jostling, preholiday scrum setting her back any.
Thanks, you're a pal.
