AB [House of] D

Whaddaya know? Everybody's favorite grad school dropout, David Duchovny, has a blog over at Lions Gate to promote his upcoming directorial debut, House of D.* Check it out. He's awfully earnest:

what can i say---spread the word. tell a friend and tell a friend and tell a friend---these smalleer (smalleer---i like that, but i meant smaller) need champions, need homegrown rather than studio fabricated buzz, need the tlc of the individual. i know there's a home out there for movies that make you laugh and cry---you guys are the movie's home.

Back in late December, Grace Paley invoked the same women's house of detention in the West Village, for which Duchovny's film is named, in her MLA address. Talk about your "Magic and Technology in Contemporary American Fiction and Poetry."**

*Thanks be to Ed for alerting me.
