The Boston Underground Film Festival isn't getting into Jim Jarmusch's pants, but it will let you see his shorts tonight at the Brattle Theatre, located at 40 Brattle Street in Harvard Square. Tickets are $9 and are available at the Brattle box office the night of the festival.
9:45pm, BUFF presents the New England premiere of a program of shorts curated by Jim Jarmusch. Short films in this program include rarely seen works, such as They Caught the Fury, by Carl Dreyer from 1948, and Towers Open Fire, directed by William S. Burroughs and Brian Gyson. These films range from The High Sign, by Buster Keaton from 1921 to the more recent Got Your Money, an Ol’ Dirty Bastard video directed by Hype Williams. Also included is a rarely seen short directed by Jarmusch, Int. Trailer. Night. from 2002.
The idea of the actual, pasty Jarmusch in shorts is too terrible to contemplate.
