On Friday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m., Camera d'Or winner Miranda July continues her campaign to make the rest of us feel tired and lazy when faced with her boundless creativity. She'll be reading from her story The Boy from Lam Kien at Skylight Books at 1818 N. Vermont in beautiful Los Feliz.
July appears alongside three other authors--Mary Rechner, Carol Tredwell, and Laurence Dumortier--all published by the small imprint Cloverfield Press [which was started by indie producer Matthew Greenfield and is based in Santa Monica]. Fans of July must promise to be on their best behavior and stay for the other women's readings.
Fun fact: a trillion years ago, the cinetrix was in an undergraduate creative writing class with the enviably named Ms. Dumortier. Clearly she got a lot more out of it than I.
