The cinetrix was doing a little reading about French film in the 1930s today, as is her want, when she stumbled across the following nugget:
Jean Vigo was the son of the notorious left-wing anarchist Eugene Bonaventure de Vigo, who was better known under the pseudonym of Almereyda, an anagram for "[i] y a [de] la merde," or "there is shit."
Well and good, and it also goes a long way toward explaining indie director Michael Kayden Almereyda's nom de cinema.
