It's the cinetrix's last day in here in the city with lifted head singing so proud to be alive and coarse and strong and cunning. She's seen old friends, made new ones, didn't go to nearly enough panels [a blanket apology], and can't believe SCMS--the Trekker convention for film academics--is almost over.
Excelsior, or whatever it is the young people say. Full Frame has announced its New Docs in Competition slate, and there's some amazing stuff on there. The cinetrix is looking forward to seeing what all the Manda Bala hype is about, and she heartily recommends Sam Green's lot 63, grave c. Also, I admit, this one caught my eye:
Field Of Stone Shambhavi Kaul l World Premiere
A disturbing portrait of country music’s infamous David Allen Coe, a man crumbling under the weight of his demons.
Who isn't a sucker for troubled musician docs? Hell, you could easily program an entire festival devoted to them at this point.
Until that happy day, there's Full Frame. Start scouring the lineup here.
